Pictures of Guy's animal art are categorized by subject matter
and composition. The categories are:
Lions and Cheetahs: Guy Coheleach is the Master of Big
Cats! Guy's art in this section depicts Lions and Cheetahs in
activities that range from resting and mating to
predation,feeding and establishing dominance.
Tigers: In this
section you will find paintings of Siberian and Bengal Tigers
with compositions ranging from fierce predator to gentle
mother.
Leopards: Guy Coheleach has been described as the
greatest Leopard painter ever! He has studied and painted all
species of these cats from the African Leopard to Snow
Leopards including the Chinese and Black Leopard.
Cat
Portraits: Here you will find portraits of all of the
great cats including Siberian Tiger, Jaguar, Snow Leopard,
Head, Western Puma, Black Jaguar, Cheetah, Lynx, Ocelot,
Margay, Chinese Leopard, White Tiger and Bobcat.
Elephants:
Coheleach was nearly killed by an attacking Elephant, it had a profound effect
on his art. It showed him the difference between animals using their instincts
to survive in the wild and those that are in protected game reserves. He
paints that difference in the animals eyes.
African Big
Game: Guy is fascinated by the predator / prey relationship in African
Animals. This section features the grazing animals including Cape Buffalo,
Zebra, Giraffe, Bongo, Water Buck, Hippo, Rhino, Kudu and Sable Antelope.
American Big Game:
Featured in this section are Whitetail Deer, Mule Deer, Caribou, Wapiti
Stag, Elk, Stone Sheep, Big Horn Sheep, Dall Sheep, Musk Ox and Moose.
Wolves, Foxes and
Dogs: Guy's art is not limited to the African Continent and Big Cats. This
section includes paintings of Timber Wolves and Red Fox as their domesticated
brothers the Labrador and Golden Retrievers.
Birds of Prey:
Guy Coheleach's collection of Birds of Prey and Falconry Art include Golden
Eagle, American Bald Eagle, Imperial Eagle, African Fish Eagle, White
Gyrfalcon, Osprey, Peregrine Falcon, American Kestrel, Grey Gyrfalcon and even
Vultures.
Owls: Owls were one of
Guy's first subjects and are still one of his favorites to this day. This
section includes paintings of Great Horned Owls, Snow Owls, Short Eared Owls,
Spotted Owls, Saw Whet Owls, Long Eared Owls, Barred Owls and Screech Owls.
Water Birds: Water
Birds category encompasses paintings of water fowl as well as wading and
diving birds. Included in this group are Wood Ducks, Mallards, Green-winged
Teal, Blue-winged teal, Canadian Geese, Mute Swan, Hooded Merganser, Snow
Swan, Whistling Swan, Great Blue Heron, Purple Gallinule, Loons, American
Egret, Snowy Egrets, Tudor Keygrets, African Crowned Crane and Brown Pelicans.
Birds: This
section is for Guy's paintings of game birds as well as song birds. Images in
this section include Bobwhite Quail, Grouse, Wild Turkey, Mourning Dove, Blue
Grey Blue Jay, Long Billed Marshwren, Scarlet Tanager, Whip-Poor-Will, Red
Cardinals, Red Shafted Flicker, Ivory Billed Woodpecker, Kirtland's Warbler,
Killdeer Plover, Barn Swallows and the Lilac Breasted Roller.
Friendly Critters:
Although the predator / prey relationship is apparent in most of Guy's
work, he is keenly aware of playful side of animals. This section includes
Chimpanzees, Otters, Koala Bears, Giant Panda, Raccoons, Harp Seals, Polar
Bear and Black Bears.
Miscellaneous:
This last section includes Coleheach's paintings that don't easily fit in any
of the other categories including Auto Racing, Golf, the race
